Brian Freeman
Anatomist, Embryologist
Brian Freeman is an anatomist and embryologist. He is interested in the biomechanical and biodynamic development of human beings and their manifestation in adult function and structure.
During his teaching career, he lectured for a long time at the University of New South Wales. He recently retired, receiving a Certificate of Merit for his long teaching commitment in anatomy, embryology, histology, and neuroanatomy.
He took the specialisation in neuroanatomy in 1978 at the University of New South Wales. Also, he worked in Germany as a researcher with dr. Alexander Von Humboldt in 1979, 1984, and 1990. He is a translator and editor of E. Blechschmidt's book “Ontogenetic Basis of Human Anatomy. A Biodynamic Approach to Development from Conception to Birth” (2004).
From 2001 to 2006, he was director of the UNSW School of Medical Sciences. He has carried out many workshops on embryology in Australia, New Zealand, England, France, and Germany.
